COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – With the inaugural NCHC Frozen Faceoff only a little more than two months away, the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) revealed the official logo for the NCHC Frozen Faceoff on Thursday.
The primary NCHC Frozen Faceoff logo takes the shape of a shield with a jagged top and curved bottom coming to a point. The emblem uses the NCHC’s official navy blue, red and gray colors, as well as a powder blue for an icy look. Gray and red outlines encompass the shield, while within the shield is the Minneapolis skyline in navy blue. In front of the skyline is a silhouette of Target Center, the home of the NCHC Frozen Faceoff, featured in powder blue with the NCHC conference logo resting on that. Across the middle of the shield and underneath Target Center is the word “FROZEN” in white with powder blue accent and a puck soaring underneath it, as well as the word “FACEOFF” under that in white.
Along with the primary logo, the NCHC also made public a secondary Frozen Faceoff logo and a wordmark. The secondary mark is similar to the primary logo but does not have a shield. The secondary logo is simply the Minneapolis skyline, Target Center and the words “FROZEN FACEOFF.” The wordmark features only the words “FROZEN FACEOFF” in the same style as the other two logos, including the puck, while the NCHC conference logo rests atop the wordmark.
The inaugural NCHC Frozen Faceoff is set for March 21-22, 2014 at Target Center in Minneapolis. All-session tickets (for all four games) are on sale now and can be purchased here. Don’t miss your chance to see history as four teams battle it out to claim the inaugural NCHC Tournament crown and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Merchandise, including shirts and hats, featuring the new NCHC Frozen Faceoff logo will be available next week on the NCHC's Fan Shop at http://nchchockey.teamfanshop.com.
The NCHC Frozen Faceoff logo was designed by Sport Ngin, the NCHC’s website host, with input from NCHC staff.
In addition to revealing the NCHC Frozen Faceoff logo, a new NCHC commercial promoting the Frozen Faceoff was also made public. The commercial can be seen below.
