On day four of the 2020 NCHC Play of the Year Tournament, presented by TRIA Orthopaedic Center, our final set of first-round match-ups are available for fan voting.
In the first match-up, North Dakota's Judd Caulfield finishes a nice tic-tac-toe sequence against Western Michigan in week 21, while St Cloud State's Kevin Fitzgerald cuts to the middle and dekes out a Miami defender by flipping the puck to himself in week 10.
In the other first-round match-up Saturday, Western Michigan senior Dawson DiPietro intercepts a Miami pass at the point, turns on the jets and buries a breakaway goal in week 19, while Omaha goalie Isaiah Saville robs St. Cloud State on a point-blank shot in week 11.
Winning our two match-ups from Friday was a great save and score sequence by Hunter Shepard and Tanner Laderoute and Colorado College's Nick Halloran. Shepard and Laderoute topped Miami's Gordie Green's with 81 percent of the vote, while Halloran edged Omaha's Isaiah Saville, also with 57 percent of the vote. Shepard/Laderoute and Halloran meet in a quarterfinal on March 17.
Videos of both of Friday's match-ups are below with the poll to vote below each video. Voting will remain open until Morning morning, when the first two quarterfinal match-ups are posted and today's winners are announced. The winners of today's match-ups will meet in the second quarterfinal on March 17. The entire bracket can be seen at the bottom of the page.
