COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – While the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) unveiled its 2019-20 conference slate in April, the NCHC has announced two series date changes for the upcoming season involving Western Michigan, Colorado College and Miami. The two date changes will help accommodate Western Michigan’s non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2019-20 campaign.
The first series to shift dates is Western Michigan at Colorado College, which will now take place a week earlier than planned on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1-2, 2019 in Colorado Springs. The series was originally slated for Nov. 8-9 in the same location. November 1-2 will now serve as the opening weekend of conference play, with WMU at CC the lone NCHC match-up that weekend. Two other NCHC series, Denver at Minnesota Duluth and Miami at North Dakota, are still slated for the Nov. 8-9 weekend as scheduled. The first full weekend of conference play then occurs on Nov. 15-16.
The second series to move is Western Michigan at rival Miami, which will now be a week later than originally scheduled and take place on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 14-15, 2020 in Oxford, Ohio. The WMU at Miami series was first slated for Feb. 7-8 in Oxford. With the weekend swap, there will now be two NCHC series on Feb. 7-8 and two conference series on Feb. 14-15, with each team playing one NCHC series during those two weekends.
Times for both series are still to be announced. To view the complete and updated 2019-20 NCHC conference-only schedule, click here. Non-conference games are announced at each school’s discretion.
